If there is any silver lining to the current financial crisis, it may be the end of the myth of the genius CEO. CEOs and other top managers of financial firms, in particular, have been revered as if they have magic powers. Now they mainly seem incompetent and greedy, if not corrupt. The myth of the genius CEO, and the acaiypcnmong cult of the imperial CEO, have been a major cause of the health care crisis, in my humble opinion. Of course, you are unlikely to see that in many health care research or policy journals
